The Rice County Attorney represents the State of Kansas in criminal cases filed in Rice County.

The County Attorney handles all felony cases occurring within the County and misdemeanor and traffic cases not otherwise filed in a municipal court.

The County Attorney also files Child in Need of Care and Care and Treatment cases based upon alcohol and drug abuse or mental illness.
