Mission Statement:  to administer and enforce the Kansas Noxious Weed Law (KSA Article 13, Chapter 2-1314 et seq.) and to provide assistance and advice to landowners and citizens of Rice County for the control of noxious weeds.

 

 
          It is the duty of all persons to control noxious weeds.  Noxious weeds are defined and designated by the Kansas Legislature as detrimental to Kansas agriculture economics.  In Rice County the noxious weeds present are Field bindweed, Johnsongrass, Musk thistle, and Sericea lespedeza.  The Rice County Weed Dept. strives to accomplish this goal by providing;
1)      Inspection of land, private and public
2)      Control of noxious weeds on public rights of way and private land
3)      Sell herbicides for noxious weed control at county cost share prices
4)      Notify landowners and tenants of responsibility under law and enforce if necessary.
