Function |
The Register of Deeds has
custody of and safely keeps and preserves all records |
|
| |
|
pertaining to land kept in
the office of the Register of Deeds. |
|
| |
|
The Register of Deeds
shall also record or cause to be recorded all deeds, mortgages, |
|
| |
|
maps, instruments and
writings authorized by law to be recorded in the office of the |
|
| |
|
Register of Deeds and
shall perform all other duties as required by law. |
|
| |
|
|
|

Open Records |
All records in the office
of the Register of Deeds are open records except for the |
|
| |
|
Kansas Real Estate Sales
Validation Questionnaire. The questionnaire is open to those |
|
| |
|
protesting their taxes and
to Kansas Certified General Real Property Appraisers. |
|

"Any
sums paid for goods and services from the County in excess of the amount
due, but less |
|
|
than Ten
Dollars ($10.00) in excess of the amount due shall NOT be refunded by the
County, |
|
|
but
shall be placed in the General Fund." |
|
|
"Any sums received by the County
departments for goods and services in excess of |
|
|
Ten Dollars ($10.00) over the
amount due shall be refunded to the payor. |
|
|
However, the County shall
establish a fee of $4.50 for the costs associated with said refund." |
